Rzym idealny o tej porze roku

Teraz gdy jesień wyraźnie stuka do drzwi północnej części Europy, radzę wyskoczyć na chwilę do Rzymu! Na stolicę Italii zawsze jest dobra pora. Nawet późną jesienią, czy bardzo wczesną wiosną przyjemnie jest dać się ogrzać promieniom słońca pod Panteonem! W Rzymie jest milion miejsc gdzie można się zatrzymać, a dwa miliony i trochę gdzie dadzą dobrze zjeść. Jestem pewien, że my Polacy zaraz po tubylcach, dzięki historycznemu pontyfikatowi znamy je jak nikt inny. Jeśli ktoś ma ochotę zapraszam do podzielenia się swoimi spostrzeżeniami.
A oto i moje. Luksusowe, ale nie tylko (w Rzymie bywa, że ważniejsze od luksusu jest położenie, lub historia kryjąca się za grubymi murami – będzie przeplataniec).
Gdzie śpię gdy jest okazja.
Jestem zwierzęciem butikowym. Jumeirah Grand Hotel via Veneto to zdecydowanie mój klimat. Oczywiście 500 metrowy apartament jest poza zasięgiem (nie zwykłem poruszać się po pokojach … rowerem), ale pokój superior zaspokaja moje noclegowe potrzeby. Zanim znikam w pościeli daje o sobie znać męska słabość – wizyta w barze. Hasło: Time – nie powiem nic więcej!

Casa Santa Brigida przy Piazza Farnese 96. Spaliście kiedyś w klasztorze? Jedyna okazja! Włochy, a Rzym w szczególności to miejsce gdzie kwitnie turystyka… klasztorna. Rozwiązania od bardzo tanich po wręcz ekskluzywne (co do ceny i standardu). Santa Brigida jest w pobliżu Piazza Navona i Campo de Fiori. Ciekawostką jest tu możliwość skorzystania z przyklasztornej biblioteki z wiekowymi woluminami.

Na basen w Rzymie? Można! Zaraz po wizycie na Watykanie należy popływać w odległym o 5 minut spacerem Grand Melia hotel. Basen jest sezonowy – w listopadzie już się nie uda! Przestrzeń to właściwe słowo na określenie unikalności tego przybytku. Mam i tutaj swój boutique – Hiszpanie nazwali go “red level” – taki hotel w hotelu. Uwaga! W recepcji spotka nas miły akcent z… Polski!

Mam takie wspomnienie z placu Św. Piotra. Noc. Taras w Residenza Paolo VI. Chyba jednak późna noc – 2.00? Światło w oknie Karola Wojtyły – siedzę na tarasie i nie mogę oderwać wzroku …
Lubię klimat tego miejsca, nie jest zbyt nowocześnie, ale bardzo przytulnie, nawet elegancko. Co prawda podstawowe pokoje są maleńkie, ale za to śniadanie to więcej niż cornetto i do tego podane na pięknej porcelanie – jak nie we Włoszech:).

Gdzie jadam
De Russie – niektórzy tutaj sypiają, a ja czasem jadam. Le Jardin de Russie – tak długo jak tylko pogoda pozwoli należy jeść w tutejszym ogrodzie. Przystawkowo jestem monotematyczny – tatar ze szparagami. Za to w pierwszym daniu znajduję miejsce dla tagliolini z kalmarami. Bez protestu akceptuję perfekcyjne tu ossobuco na … ech!!! szafranowym risotto. To już koniec. Karta zmienia się sezonowo, na szczęście szef kuchni nie.

La Canaccia – Piazza Montecitorio. Zapomnijcie o niej jeśli wyznajecie zasadę “nie istniejesz jeśli nie ma Cię w sieci”. Właściciel i jego potrawy żyją innym rytmem. Salvatore i jego restauracja … nie mają telefonu. Rezerwacja tylko osobiście. Wszyscy i ja chwalą pasta “alla norma”.

Już kiedyś chwaliłem Gingera – polecam tym którzy lubią Eataly -eksportowy produkt włoski dostepny m.in. w Nowym Jorku i Dubaju. Przy via Borgognona 43/44. Prêt à Manger, Bistro, gourmet i wszystkie te ostatnio modne nazwy w jednym. Bardzo mi smakowała sałatka z kalmarami i ananasem. Menu bogate, mnóstwo świeżych jogurtów, szejków i owoców.

Na trufle! Nadchodzi ten czas! Do Papa Giovanni przy via dei Sediari. Drogo, konieczna rezerwacja i zamknięte w niedzielę. Poza tym truflowo…

Eat, prey, love? Dwa pierwsze gwarantowane w wyjątkowym miejscu L’eau vive. Na tyłach Panteonu. Kuchnia … francuska. Uwaga! restauracja prowadzona przez siostrzyczki. O 22.00 siostry przerywają zajęcia i odmawiają wieczorną modlitwę. Tak! na środku restauracji! Goście mogą się przyłączyć!

Czyż Rzym nie jest piękny?

Don’t you think this is the best time of the year to make a brief visit in Rome? You will find many reasons to do it now! Whether it’s a late autumn or early spring what might be better than catching warm rays of the sun in the Pantheon! In Rome there are million places where you can stay for a night or two and two million or more where you will find tasty and … “worth a sin” cuisine. I am sure that we Poles right after the natives, through historic polish pontificate know this hidden gems like nobody else. But of course you are invited to share your private experience in the comments!

And here’s mine – not only luxury! (in Rome sometimes luxury is not as important as the location, or the stories hidden behind the thick historical walls).
Where do I sleep … according to the current budget.
I am a boutique guy. Jumeirah Grand Hotel Via Veneto is definitely my climate. Of course, a 500 square meter apartment is out of my range (btw. I’m not used to bicycle around my bedroom…), but Superior rooms satisfies my needs by far. The Grand Hotel is not only about sleeping for sure. Before I make a good use of comfy bed I visit the bar. Login: men’s weakness, password: Time (bar’s name) – You better stop wasting your time talking!

Casa Santa Brigida in Piazza Farnese 96. Anyone slept in a monastery? The only chance! Italy, and Rome in particular, is a place where monastery tourism flourishes… . You will find accommodation solutions from very price friendly to quite exclusive (regarding the price and the standard). Santa Brigida is near Piazza Navona and Campo de Fiori. Make a booking and benefit from the access to monastery library with some ancient volumes present.

Grand Melia Rome.
Want to use the swimming pool in Rome? Don’t give up! Find a Grand Melia Rome hotel. It’s only five minutes walk from St. Peter’s Basilica. The pool is seasonal however – in November will be closed for sure! “Space” is the right word to describe the uniqueness of this large venue. Worth to notice is that the Spaniards – being creative – found out an interesting concept called „red level” – a boutique hotel within a regular hotel.

I have a unique memory from Piazza San Pietro. Late night – around 2 am. Terrace in the Residenza Paolo VI. Sitting there alone I could see the light in the window of Karol Wojtyla’s room – working very late – this was how he have worked – overtime hours…
I like the atmosphere of the Residenza, not too modern, but very cozy, even elegant. Although the basic rooms are very tiny the …breakfast is more than just a cornetto. What’s important they serve it on the beautiful porcelain – not very common in Italy :).

Where to eat
Hotel De Russie – some sleep here, and I sometimes do eat. Le Jardin de Russie – as long as the weather permits be sure to eat outside in the garden. I’m very bound to this starter – tartar with asparagus. In the first course I find a place for tagliolini with calamari followed by perfect here ossobuco on … OMG!!! saffron risotto. This is the end of the story. Menu changes seasonally here, fortunately the chef remains the same.

La Canaccia – Piazza Montecitorio. Forget about it if you think “it does not exist if you can’t find it in the web.” The owner and his dishes are living a different rhythm. Salvatore and his restaurant … do not have a phone. Book in person only. The guests like simple pasta „alla norma” – so do I.

I had once a chance to praise Ginger already – recommended to those who like Eataly – italian product available among others in New York and Dubai. The Via Borgognona 43/44 is a Prêt à Manger, Bistro, gourmet and all the recently fashionable names in one. I really tasted salad with calamari and pineapple. There is a large variety of dishes, lots of fresh yoghurt, sheikhs and fruit.

On the truffles! Here comes it’s time! Papa Giovanni on Via dei Sediari. Expensive, reservation needed and closed on Sunday.

Eat, prey, love? The first two guaranteed in a unique place L’eau vive. At the back of the Pantheon. French cuisine. Note! restaurant run by nuns. About 10 pm sisters hold evening prayer. Yes! in the middle of the restaurant! Guests are invited to join!
